111 years of Huppertz Logistics in Cologne

Huppertz, the Cologne-based logistics multinational, celebrates its 111th year of operations

Cologne, September 13, 2008

On Saturday in Cologne-Niehl, over 700 guests, employees and customers celebrated Cologne-based Huppertz‘s 111-year-long success story.

The Cologne Chamber of Industry and Commerce honored the innovative longstanding company with a 111-year anniversary plaque, presented by Ulrich S. Soénius, Director of Regional Development, Traffic and Administration, to the Huppertz Group‘s executive managers, Anja Huppertz and Peter Huppertz. The Huppertz Group is the
first company to receive this kind of tribute from the Chamber. Huppertz employees holding balloons in the company colors gathered at exactly 11:11 a.m. at the stage – a black Huppertz truck. The action continued with a "Lean" T-shirt folding contest and afterwards with a round of showboxing by Alesia "The Tigress" Graf, the current two-time world champion. The show also reflected Huppertz‘s innovative strategy of process optimization through "Lean Logistics": Special guest Alesia Graf is a living example of this company philosophy. She, too, has won and defended her championship position through continuous improvement. Like her, Huppertz is looking confidently ahead to the future – and to another 111 successful years.
