Huppertz MSP - Material Synchronisation and Packaging

At our spare parts logistics and packaging center, we package everything under the sun. That includes for example all the spare parts for Ford's entire vehicle range – with over 300,000 different parts, from engines and roofs down to single screws. As well Huppertz MSP consolidates and synchronizes material flows for our customers in Europe with throughput times between 4 h and 24 h. We continuously optimize our throughput times in order to support the total European supply chain of our customers, including all required services such as management of inbound and outbound transport, customs, time window management, empties management and storage. Furthermore, we deliver additional services such as professional packaging engineering and design, customized IT solutions or excess storage as well as organizing the purchasing and supply chain of packaging material.

 

Profile

Huppertz MSP is our center for spare parts logistics and packaging. This is where we manage and consolidate the entire goods flow for our key clients. We receive spare parts from over 2,000 European and U.S. suppliers, consolidate, pack  and ship them out to more than 40 final European destinations – with turnaround times ranging from
4 to 24 hours.

We repack 300,000 original spare parts (every kind of car part available) from their transport packagings into the original spare parts packages. The repacked single parts are finally packed in specified containers and shipped out to customer distribution centers throughout Europe – all according to a tightly coordinated delivery schedule. Besides packing, developing new pack specifications, and managing empties, we monitor the supply chain with the supplier and the haulier regarding delivery performance and quality, including issuing paper and IT documentation, producing labels and online data management.

These services require today's complex use of various customer IT applications and their interfaces in line with customer requirements. Huppertz MSP is a fast-paced company in a fast-paced industry. We can pack up to 160,000 parts with 1,000 different packaging materials each day. Products have a maximum throughput time of 1.3 days and a minimum of 4 hours. Our service for our customer is as well to compensate all unknown fluctuations in volume of up to 50% and to pack and ship special or fast track parts if required within four hours.
