Standards are restricting, inflexible and only serve to monitor employees, so some would say. Standards provide a clear framework which allows you to act more freely and flexibly, say others. Either way, everyone agrees that without standards a Continuous Improvement Process is not possible.

In order to remain viable in the long term, react quickly and with flexibility to changing market conditions and be able to fulfil customers’ requirements efficiently, companies such as Huppertz have made the decision to align their structure and work processes according to the principles of the Toyota Production System.

The objective is to develop a feeling for customer requirements and the market situation, identify potential and implement it according to “QCD” – high quality, low costs and short delivery times. Employees continuously improve processes in order to generate flow to identify waste and eliminate it using established Lean Tools.
