“Logistics goes lean” is all about transferring a successful culture of productivity to a new industry and market. The system revolves around a simple, but brilliant strategy: complete and utter concentration on the product value stream (and the elimination of waste along the production process). The main driver in this approach are the employees themselves. Through a series of training programs, group meetings and workshops, they are encouraged and empowered to improve their workplaces and workflows. Their activities create a continuous improvement process, also known as “kaizen”.
